Landscaping Elements Needed for Your Tweed Heads Home

By Nia Lawrence

Landscaping in Tweed Heads can be very exciting. Other than the fact that the town itself is a total beauty, being an island surrounded by pristine waters, it's a beach side tourist spot that's very near the Gold Coast. So every home calls for a wonderful tropical landscape style. Meaning, it has to be filled with greens and vibrant hues, and a lot of other spring-summer elements. Even if your Tweed Heads home isn't by the beach, you can make it look like a mini-resort with the help of landscaping, especially when there's a swimming pool in your backyard.

When it comes to tropical landscaping, one element to have is a palm tree. A palm tree is tall, well structured, nicely hued, and easy to maintain in hot climates. Among the plants, it's one that's always used for landscaping. It's the perfect centerpiece for rock gardens, ones where you have the soils piled up and line with stones, and surrounded by smaller plants. The palm tree goes well in the middle, or you can have three with one on each side. Mulches are also important in landscaping in Tweed Heads. These are not just the decorative items you see in rock gardens that look like grass, but these also lock in moisture and keep the soil free from weeds and erosion. Most mulches are brown. But it would be better if you got the colored ones to make your garden lovelier and more interesting.

Another element needed in tropical landscaping is the walkway. While common walkways are long, winding and cemented, you ought to have the ones in square tiles lined over tiny stones. These give your garden more of a resort look. Rocks, on the other hand, contribute more to gardening than just being part of the walkway. These can be used in rock gardens and you can also pile them up on one side to create a strange, unique structure. You can leave the rock piles as is or place a water pump underneath to start your own mini fountain.

Now a tropical landscaping in Tweed Heads is never complete without flowering shrubs. Why shrubs? Most of them are perennials. They last long, they're easy to manage, resistant to drought, and they have short puffy structures that are perfect for landscaping. You can have Virginia Bluebells, White Baneberry shrubs, Hibiscus shrubs, and the like. Flowers add much color and life to a garden, and it represents Tweed Heads well, being that the town is rich in flora and fauna.

And if you decide to do more mini gardens and terraces, you ought to have pure green perennials too, to add volume and make the garden look healthy. Along with all the other elements, you can have the perfect Tweed Heads garden.
