The Glory Of A Game Room

By Abbie Osborne-Wilson

If you're wishing for a game room, read on and find how to easily create this fun-buzzing space right in your own home!

A small room is okay. We can't have everything we want, right? So make the most out of your spare space and decorate creatively. You'll have a game room to be proud of despite its limited size. Use furniture that are comfortable and functional. Armed chairs that have cushioned seats are nice for watching television, playing games or just relaxing. A couch will be nice too for the entertainment center. Since you would want to save space, instead of going for the sofa set, complement the couch with beanbags and ottomans. A folding table with matching folding chairs will also come in handy for big groups.

If you have a more spacious room, you have liberty in decorating with things you want. A sofa set is a good addition to the usual chairs and tools. You can also have a mini bar complete with beverages and snacks. Position your pool table and other gaming tables accordingly so there is space to get around. If you have to squeeze yourself in between spaces or maneuver your way around before getting to or from the door, you would have to reposition your furnishings or maybe even take out some things.

A game room is not all about the gaming equipment, video games and entertainment center. You can adorn it with decorative items like posters, trinkets, photos, mirrors, etc. Popular sports figures will be at home in this room. Frame the posters for better wall hangings.

For a relaxing ambiance, consider scented candles, oil fragrance or lamp. A standing lamp is especially suitable for a big space where you can put a couple in different corners of the room.

Area rugs will give the game room a more homely feel. Go for bold prints and vivid colors. Dark and formal-looking don't really fit into this room. A happy, crazy room should also have a cheery, crazy rugs.

You won't regret having a game room especially upon seeing your family and friends having a grand time every minute they spend beating each other out in their games room, that is.
