High Bay Lighting Lessens Operating Costs And Is Easier On The Eyes

By King N. Marvin

There is no need to have areas dimly lit so as to save money when High Bay lighting gives lots of light at a very reasonable operating cost, and provides much better vision. Conventional metal halide lights can be dull, cause eye strain and expensive to operate, but High Bay lighting works at a fraction of the cost, including a much lower requirement for maintenance.

The efficiency of High Bay lighting comes from a 156 watt compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) that can reduce power usage for light by 70 per cent, versus the standard metal halide type. This low power usage is even better than LED High Bay lighting by as much as one-third. If you have air conditioners, they will also become cheaper to operate because High Bay lighting generates very little heat.

Practically every business and organization has had to undergo financial restraints to save money during these times, and by having High Bay lighting with its super bright 156 watt CFLs, saving cash on light power consumption will be immediate. Choose from finishes in a classic style mirror aluminum that puts illumination where you require it, or a Plexiglas clear cover that provides virtually 360 lighting, and they instantly turn on and off with a flick of the switch eliminating the noise and slowness of start-ups found with conventional metal halide lighting. After 20 thousand hours of service, the bulbs are easy and affordable to change.

High Bay lighting is also available with an advanced 150 watt LED chip to give daylight-type light for situations where detailed work is performed, or where colors need to be seen in their true hue, and because they are vibration-resistant and do not flicker, unlike metal halides, eye strain is at a minimum. The LED chip does not require lenses and it has a lifetime of an outstanding 50 thousand hours; that's over10 years of service when operated 12 hours a day. If brilliant light is a requirement, then LED High Bay lighting is the answer with 3 times more illumination than CFL.

Another feature of CFL and LED High Bay lighting is its ability to light up areas indoors and outside for safety and to deter criminals from interfering with property, and also to make any individuals readily identifiable to police by having their features better highlighted on surveillance cameras and CCTV. Whether you decide on CFL or LED High Bay lighting, 3 and 5-year manufacturer's warranties are provided with each respectively.
