Some Reasons For Buying The Invisible Grille

By Chee Eu-Jin

The prevalence of space saving buildings, like high rises for residential as well as office use, poses many safety challenges. And the occupants most often shoulder these safety challenges, as many stories abound of people and children falling off balconies resulting in injuries and even death. Most if not all will put heavy grilles and bars around these areas. It comes at a cost however in that it is not to pretty to look at, unless on uses the Invisible Grille.

Most safety grilles and bars are of the traditional variety. That is they are the same ones used in prisons also. They are nothing more than metal tubes or bars, made of steel or aluminum, embedded into the window sash. Having one of these traditional safety grilles in your high rise home or apartment will make you feel you are in a prison looking out, as it does give that view, and it will also make your home look like a prison looking in from outside.

Therefore the traditional setup is not at all aesthetically pleasing, either to the occupant or the building designer or architect. Many tenement and apartment buildings in Asia, particularly Hong Kong and Singapore, look like matchbox prisons due to the effect given by these traditional security bar grilles. However, there is an option where it does not have to be like this, in which beauty is sacrificed for the sake of safety.

Invisible Grille is a boon not only to apartment owners but to building architects as well. Not only do they provide safety but also provide overall beauty in a sense. And the good thing is that they are easy to install and uninstall.

These invisible grilles are basically window frames that are constructed in a modular frame. The frames are strung with high tension cables made of steel that have a nylon membrane. The membrane protects against abrasion and cuts. Gutted in a vertical position, these high tension and very thin cables are spaced just wide enough to prevent entry or from someone falling out. However, they are also spaced far enough from each other so that they are basically almost invisible or hard to see.

The invisible see through effect it gives one a more panoramic and unobstructed view of the outside thus making the rooms more spacious. In addition, as viewed from the outside it gives a more aesthetic and cleaner look. It also gives great ventilation as with all regular bar windows.

And they are strong too. The all steel materials of these units are proven to have anti rust effects lasting up to twenty years, and tensile strengths of over one hundred and sixty kilos load per cable. Not only that, they are not easily cut by children or ordinary scissors so you can rest assured that they will not be taken out in any way.

A popular option that can be installed with the Invisible Grille is its ability to integrate with your current security system, so that breaches from without or within sounds off an alarm. But the great thing is that it can be easily installed or dismantled, especially if you are moving to a new location. Many dealers do sell this grille but payment options may vary from package prices to per square feet billings. In either case, it is a new thing worth trying out.
