Invisible Grille is the Evolution in Window Safety

By Liang Jao Wei

The invisible grille is a system that provides an attractive and safe answer for the protection of expansive, open air balconies. The are attractive since they no longer block the view and they are suitable for both apartment houses and commercial enterprises. The old aluminum or iron bars have been the standard answer for several decades. The new invisible grilles are typically installed where increased safety is required. These work as rails around pool areas as well as preventing air conditioning units from falling off of ledges.

These cables are kept at a high tension by way of a reliable cable locking system. There is a 60 month warranty on this system that is advertised as maintaining 340 pounds of weight. The stainless steel cables are treated with a transparent epoxy so that the cables appear invisible from a distance. These are also free from dust and rust and make for improved value.

The cables are anchored to wall plugs and are run through tracks to help lock the tension into place. The aluminum casing that holds the wall plugs is painted to match the color of the building facade. The spacing between the cables is usually three inches wide so that the risk of having any small child squeeze through the gap is minimized.

The inhabitants of the building will feel less enclosed as well which is a welcome change from the traditional bars that have been implemented for many decades. The line of vision will not be obstructed as much. There are also many different models to choose from including those that come with a security alarm. This ensures that the interior will be safer thus helping to lower insurance costs as well.

An assessment must be done to ascertain if the building is suitable for this type of installation. The structural integrity of the building must be strong enough to provide the right support for the anchoring system. The walls will be holding the tension of the cables so they must have the infra-structure to handle the work required of it.

Invisible grilles are a viable alternative for homes and offices located in the ex-Soviet Union. The ugly bars are now replaced by this modern system that will enhance the appearance of the facade while keeping the inhabitants safe. Building tenants will no longer have to feel demoralized by an outdated system that is not aesthetically pleasing.

Tenants and owners living at the lower levels are often at risk of getting their apartments broken into. Many have already had this experience and want to improve the security of their system.

Invisible grilles are a relatively recent invention and therefore are still waiting to be discovered by the market. Many people are not aware of this option until they happen to see it in use first hand. They are impressed by the technology as well as the price. Once this system has been used one prefers not to look back again.
