It is also used in the industries to run the large machinery used in the production and manufacturing process. This makes it one of the most important resources in society today. It also enabled the storage and preservation of perishable products using refrigerators and cooling chambers for more large scale and commercial purposes. Petroleum however is the largest energy provider on the planet today. This very dear material is usually extracted from the ground. In some places however, traces of oil have been discovered on massive water bodies. During extraction, it is usually crude in nature. This is then refined to get the petroleum, diesel, oil plastic and many other by-products.
During the process of refining crude oil, a number of other products are created. These include things such as kerosene, diesel, oil and plastics as well.
